Our client and good friend Craig Wolfley's son, Kyle Wolfley, is currently serving as the Platoon leader of the Punisher Platoon in the Mata Khan region of Afghanistan, and a fundraising event - Operation Kyle - is being held in support of the Troops on Tuesday, December 6th in his name.
Craig Wolfley will serve as Master of Ceremonies at The Harrisville United Methodist Church, where the event will begin at 6:00pm. Even if you cannot make the event, donations are being accepted (and greatly appreciated). Read on for all the information.
At 6:00pm, the Operation Kyle event will begin with an opening introduction from our event hostess, Danessa Kinsey and Master of Ceremonies, Craig Wolfley, 12 year NFL Veteran, current Sideline Reporter for the Steelers, and Kyle's father. There will be a special time of prayer for all of our past and present military members and their families lead by Pastor Drew McPeek of the Harrisville United Methodist Church. In addition, there will be special music by lead singer of Deuces Wild, Dr. Dan Jones and Deuces Wild piano player, Dustin Kinsey. A special video of the troops and local villagers will be shown, and a drawing for special door prizes for anyone in attendance who brings a donation will be held. Those items include Steelers memorabilia and great items for Christmas gifts.
Operation Kyle will be accepting donations during the event and the need during the holiday season, as well as, in the Mata Khan region, is food items that travel well, like granola bars, trail mix, gum, flavored drink packets, energy drinks, non-melting candy. And personal care items like baby wipes, lip balm, and non-aerosol items. The soldiers give out things to the local villagers and children like candy, school supplies, small stuffed animals, and rubber slip on sandals (no bright colors). Monetary donations are also welcomed to cover the cost of shipping.
In partnership with this great program is the Harrisville United Methodist Church, Kinsey Construction, Eclectic Hair Studio and Pam Kinsey, Shortcreek Twp Fiscal Officer Elect. Before December 6th, donations may be dropped off during business hours at the Harrisville United Methodist Church, Eclectic Hair Studio in Martins Ferry or call Pam Kinsey (740) 546-4148.

Music Comic Mark Eddie | Nando's Comedy Festival Review From A New Fan's Perspective
November 30, 2011
Posted By - Emma Venezie
Source Credits - Zero31; talent network, inc.

When Music Comic Mark Eddie performed in South Africa as part of Nando's Comedy Festival, he won over a number of new fans, including this one, who wrote a glowing review of Mark and the show. Check it out below:
A Review: The Durbs Comedy Fest
By Jil from Zero31.co.za
Mark Eddie kicked off the Nando's Comedy Festival concert with insanely good impersonations of muso's and showed off some seriously good guitar skills. He engaged with the audience from the get go, setting the vibe and pace for the evening. After his set, he introduced us to the next act, Dan Cummins. He was fuh-nee, poking fun at how bizarrely slow Durban moves. It's true, you can't deny it.
Next up was Capetonian Nik Rabinowitz. The one speaks fluent Xhosa, rad! He owned the crowd with his different SA cultural impersonations. Then came a Mr. Michael Loftus. He's one of the writers for the George Lopez show. He's an old hand at this, he was comfortable and did his thing, laughing at his own jokes. Love it when they do that…
...Back onto the stage after him was the talented Mark Eddie. Between each comedian he'd do a little set then introduce then next guy. He is a talented guitar player, and I really dug the way he incorporated the whole muso thing into his sets. He ended it by saying he wished he was in a band, --and whoosh! The curtains behind him dropped and a full band was set up and within seconds they were jamming. Lights flashing, sound roaring through the auditorium. An epic way to end a hilarious evening. Everyone cheered.
We laughed far too much. Definitely a win for a Friday night. If you didn't go, you missed out massively! Dark Knight and I left with happy hearts, sore stomach muscles and pained cheeks...

Read The Stars delves into the Sun's move into Sagittarius, just in time for Thanksgiving:
"Eat, drink, play, laugh, love, learn - be an adventurer!Watch the video to find out what fun stuff is in store for us as the sun moves into the wild and crazy sign! Then, read for your sign below to see what you'll be learning during the sun's Sagittarius Odyssey."
Here's an example of a horoscope with the Sun in Sagittarius:
PISCES
This is a time when you get more ambitious than usual. Most people don't realize that you have wishes and desires to be noticed and appreciated for your considerable talents. Don't buy into that image people make of you that posts you as the "doormat." Take the opportunities that are handed to you now, and your happiness will increase and you take on responsibility and demonstrate your ability to handle it with grace and aplomb.
That's just a taste - check out Read The Stars' Sun in Sagittarius 2011 - The Centaur Rocks It! for the full story.
Read The Stars is also featured on Huffington Post with the headline, Beware November 24! Why?Because of the Mercury Retrograde we warned you of last week and how it can turn your life upside down, particularly around the holidays.

'Rich and Almost Famous' | Weekly Mixed Bag by Rich Miller

Welcome to the third helping of our new weekly column titled 'Rich and Almost Famous' by new staff writer Rich Miller. His column is a mixed bag of creative opinions on all that is entertainment and sports. You can follow Rich on Facebook and Twitter @RMillerTime24.
It is Thanksgiving week once again, my all-time favorite week of the calendar year. Not just because of the great food and the family time, but this glorious week somehow seems to take on a bi-polar personality. Thanksgiving Day, of course, is all about friends and family, giving thanks for the great things in life. The other days of this week however:
First we have what is now known as White Wednesday, the biggest bar night of the year. Tonight, there is a good chance you will have the uncomfortable misfortune of sitting next to someone you may not have liked too much in high school, but fret not, do what I do and take advantage of the situation by buying them shots until they can do no more. Find solace in the ultimate revenge of making them sick on Thanksgiving. Yes, I'm awful, I know. If you find yourself sitting next to me tonight, you've been warned.
We then have the social experiment that is Black Friday. It is the only time when it is completely acceptable to shove down old women to get the last 55" LG LED HDTV for 30% off. Personally I would rather go to an occupy Wall Street or UC Davis protest, the people there are much more friendly.
On with life…
* Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are the latest Hollywood divorce case. The 15-year age gap clearly played a role in this as the two obviously had very different interests. For example, she's interested in quiet family time and he's interested in having sex with other women.
* In other marriage "news," Kristin Cavallari, who is engaged again to Jay Cutler, is talking smack on the Kardashians for being attention whores. Hello pot, meet kettle:
http://gawker.com/5860527/kristin-cavallari-declares-war-on-the-kardashians?tag=kardashians
* The Super Committee could not solve our national debt crisis. Somewhere Rick Perry is sitting in a dark room thinking…Maybe, just maybe, we should call on Super---man.
* North Korea has opened its borders to tourism. The national slogan was changed to attract tourists and the lyrics are from the song Hotel California: You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
* Happy trails to Regis Philbin. Regis is calling it quits this week after almost a lifetime on Live. Live was the go-to show if I was ever awake early enough in college to watch it. He even made Katie Lee Gifford slightly tolerable at 9 a.m., which is not exactly someone you want to see when you first wake up. Just ask Frank Gifford.
* The greatest hockey player in the world returned to the league's already best team Monday, check out my article on what really makes Crosby the greatest at his position here:

I starting thinking aboutit and asked myself, “when did Adam Sandler stop being funny?” Before you say,“I liked Funny People” or “He hasmade a ton of good movies,” allow me to explain.
Adam Sandler joined Saturday Night Live in 1990 as awriter and was doing skits on the show by 1991. His career on SNL lasted until1995. That grew into a fantastic run of comedy movies (1992-1999): Airheads; Billy Madison; Happy Gilmore;Bulletproof; The Wedding Singer; The Water Boy and Big Daddy.
After that, Sandler managed to make movies that got progressivelyworse as the years went on (2000 - ):
Little Nicky; Mr. Deeds; AngerManagement; 50 First Dates; The Longest Yard; Click; I Now Pronounce You Chuck& Larry; You Don’t Mess With the Zohan; Bedtime Stories; Grown Ups; Just GoWith It; and lastly Jack & Jill.
Looking at this research, I came up with the realizationthat Adam Sandler has gone downhill as a comedic actor, beginning in 1999, andI think I’ve found out what happened to him: he might be the most egotisticalperson in Hollywood, and it got worse as the years went on. Look, even whenSandler made funny movies, he had the best at everything:

Look, even whenSandler made funny movies, he had the best at everything:
Madison: Rich.
Gilmore: Hit the ball 400 yards.
Waterboy: Could not be blocked.
Big Daddy: Before you get upset: Iknow that Sandler plays a down on his luck, toll-booth collector. But look atthe end of the movie. One year after the custody hearing, he is a lawyer at afirm in New York?? So he went from toll collector to big-time New York lawyerin 15 months. Again, he went though four years of undergrad, two years of lawschool, passed the bar, did his entry level/intern position and was already asuccessful lawyer in that a time. Please.
It got worse as his movies got worse:

Again, he went though four years of undergrad, two years of lawschool, passed the bar, did his entry level/intern position and was already asuccessful lawyer in that a time. Please.
It got worse as his movies got worse:
Mr. Deeds: super rich.
The Longest Yard: NFL QB that almostsingle-handedly beats an organized team of guards.
Zohan: he was able to beat up anyonewho touched him.
Chuck & Larry: he was thewomanizer that got five girls at a time.
Grown-ups: he was the millionaireagent in LA married to Salma Hayek, while everyone else was broke.
Take a look at 1999, because that’s when everythingstarted to change. That is when Big Daddywas released and that was Adam Sandler’s last truly funny movie. It is also theyear that Sandler decided to open his Happy Madison production company. I thinkthat once Adam Sandler was in charge of his own company and was the finaldecision maker, he could not get out of his own way. He was now in charge ofevery aspect of his films, including the script and character decisions. If youlook at those movies now, he seems to be very guarded on the hits and jokestaken against his characters. I think since he runs the company, no one wasthere to settle his ego, tell him when something is a bad joke and to stepback.
Could it be that Adam Sandler went from being a verytalented comedic writer and actor, to not funny in a few short years? Could itbe that once he was in charge of his own production and making all thedecisions, nobody would tell him he is not funny anymore, and the bottomdropped out? Someone, somewhere within Happy Madison hadto think “I don’t know if Adam playing himself and his sister will be funny,”but no one is willing to say anything to Sandler. That is why it is his production company.

His best movie, TheWedding Singer, he plays what everyone likes: A regular guy, with no money and a crappy life. That’s comedy, what people will laugh at. Also, look at the best movie made by Happy Madison: Grandma’sBoy. Down on his luck, broke guy has to move in with his grandma because hisroommate has spent all his rent money on Pilipino call girls. Throw in someraunchy jokes and a few people playing the right roles. It is a greatmovie.
Now I understand that Sandler grew up, had kids and choseto gear some of his movies towards them and stop with some of the dirty jokes. That is understandable. But he never has been just a guy with a family and kidsand a job. I think for Adam Sandler to start to get respect back from hisoriginal fans, to be respected in the comic community, he needs to take a newdirection in his next movie. Play a guy who just gets divorced and loses hisjob and his house because of the economy, then moves in with his buddy (Irecommend his real life buddy, Adam Covert), and tries to start his life over. Theguy struggles with getting a job, getting women and being broke (you are goingto need some dirty jokes here. Sorry. This is 2011). Please Adam, for the sakeof comedy, please come back. Just don’t fire me, Mr. Sandler…

Crosby’s Return Not All About Offensive
Tuesday, November 22, 2011
Written by Rich Miller, talent network news staff

---
From the moment #87 touched the ice Monday night all eyes were on him, even those of the Islanders. That’s what makes Crosby such a difference maker; other teams have to account for him every shift. This could not have been any more evident after his first goal. Initially Crosby was deep in his own end helping behind his own net, but when Deryk Engelland cleared the defensive zone to Pascal Dupuis on the half-boards, Crosby hit speed burst. The rest is history.
That type of speed from the center position is unusual, unheard of, and unbelievable. It makes defenders have to back up, which means they cannot join odd man rushes, which means less scoring chances for the opposing team. It makes opposing centers focus on #87, instead of their wingers. It makes everyone wearing black and gold jobs a little easier as well. Crosby covers so much space on the ice defensively; it lets the Penguins defenseman have the ability to be more aggressive. As a defenseman there is no greater solace than knowing your center will be there to help you.
Not only do the Penguin defensemen get a chance to expand on their abilities, but the wingers do as well. Less time spent back checking as a winger means more time trying to find open areas on the ice in transition. If you find open space, Crosby will find you. This is where wingers with great speed and skating ability, i.e. Pascal Dupuis, become immediate threats. Dupuis is one of the few people on the ice that has enough speed to skate with Crosby. Dupuis by himself is an average player at best, but with Crosby opening up space for him and less defensive obligations, Dupuis becomes very dangerous.
Finally, the person who will benefit more than anyone else from Crosby’s return: Marc Andre Fleury. Fleury faced 29 shots last night from a porous New York team, but not many were quality chances and he was more of spectator whenever Crosby was on the ice. Already arguably the best net minder in the game, Fleury now has three exceptional two way players covering the center of the ice, with arguably the best overall defense directly in front of him as well. Crosby’s return already has people talking about scoring races and Hart trophies, but the one award I would definitely be willing to bet on is a Vezina for Fleury.

Comedian and talent network artist David Michael's new book - "Secrets From The Greenroom" - features (for the first time ever) a professional comedian's inside techniques for effective public speaking. Comedians are natural public speakers and some of the techniques David reveals are so powerful that comedy purists believe it's cheating. In "Secrets From The Greenroom," David Micheal combines all the techniques comedians use to communicate and translates them to public and corporate speaking. He also shares his experiences and the advice he's received from the top comedians of our generation, including Jay Leno, Drew Carey, Dennis Miller, Howie Mandel, Steve Harvey, Lewis Black and more.
The entertaining, yet effective book is for anyone who, at some point, has to speak in front of an audience. whether you are just starting out or have been speaking for years, "Secrets From The Greenroom" will allow you to become a more effective communicator for the stage and help develop your public speaking skills and apply them to your personal communication needs. It's a great read!

In this week's Read The Stars featured article, Astrologer Judi Vitale covers Mercury's Retrograde - something we shouldn't overlook, particularly if we're traveling for Thanksgiving this year:
"The real thing won't come until the wee hours of Thanksgiving morning, but you can start now to work around what may become one of the messiest holidays for travel and miscommunication yet. Also - back up your systems and check on your vehicles to make sure they're in working order. You won't want to get caught trying to repair a printer or charge a battery while precious holiday moments are being created!
It's great that we know Mercury Retrograde's coming, isn't it? That, among so many other things, is a great reason to be thankful!"

"A Biased Review" by new Staff Writer MeatPark | KFC Double Down
November 17, 2011
Written by MeatPark
Source Credits - @meatpark
---
'talent network news' would like to welcome a new writer to our staff: Pittsburgh native, MeatPark, who will be providing some humorous, unique (and maybe biased) insight to our blog. You can follow MeatPark on Twitter @meatpark.
Hello everyone! You're probably wondering "Who is this guy, and what does he know about anything?" Well to answer your question, my name is Meat and I know everything about everything. My goal with these articles is to give you a VERY biased review on things that rule, and things that don't rule.
I figured that I'd start with something I know very well. Probably too well, seeing that my nickname is Meat. I went out this week and tried a KFC Double Down. If you don't know what that is, Google it. Or if you're too lazy for that (which I know you are), here's a picture:
As you can see, it looks pretty tasty. And this thing totally SCREAMS America.
Fried chicken, bacon and cheese. Yes please. As I said, I ventured out to my nearest KFC to give one a try. (Just FYI, the crew and patrons of KFC on a Tuesday at 2:00pm is by no means the "A-Squad").
REVIEW
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Presentation: 3/5
I wish that my cheese had been melted. Overall, it was pretty close to what they had advertised. It looked like two fried chicken breasts with bacon and cheese in between them.
Taste: 3/5
It tasted like two fried chicken breasts with some bacon and cheese in between them. Need I say more?
Price: 2/5
The thieves at KFC are charging $4.99 for this bad-boy. I'd rather spend that kind of scratch on 5 junior bacon cheeseburgers.
Fat-boy Filling Power: 3/5
This hefty sandwich would probably be enough to fill up a normal person. But if you're over 200 lbs, there's a good chance you'll need a side dish to help you out.
Patriotism Factor: 4.5/5
As stated above, this "sandwich" is all about America. Fried food, CHECK. Bacon, CHECK. The ability to upset PETA for the gratuitous slaughter of millions of chicken, CHECK.
Overall Score: 62%.
If you're an American and you're overweight, try this thing. I wouldn't recommend getting it on a daily basis, but it's worth it if only to discuss with your other fat friends.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now for those of you health nuts (and I know most of you are) screaming about how terrible this thing is for you, here's some information on the Double Down and other sandwiches that are served in this wonderful country:
KFC's Original Recipe Double Down:
540 calories, 32 g fat, 1,380 mg sodium
McDonalds Angus Bacon and Cheese Burger:
790 calories, 39 g fat, 2,070 mg sodium
Burger King Quad Stacker:
930 calories, 65 g fat, 1,740 mg sodium (with a shocking 31g of sugar to boot)
Wendy's Classic Triple:
970 calories, 59 g fat, 2,060 mg sodium
As you can see, the Double Down is actually BETTER for you then some of the other big-boy sandwiches that are on the market - how scary is that?
So there you have it, all the information you'll need to get out there and live like a true American.Until next time, keep living the dream.

Giddy like a school girl. |
I was a little upset because the cheese wasn't melted, but I got over it pretty quickly. |
You can see it's actually pretty big. Compared to the size of my bear-claw, you can see it's a good size; it weighed around 1.5 lbs. |
Try using THIS picture for your advertisements, KFC. |
Obesity, for Science! |
