On his Dr. Phil appearance, revered and skilled Pittsburgh-based Forensic Pathologist, Dr. Cyril Wecht, revealed his autopsy findings in the Rebecca Zahau case:
In his autopsy, Dr. Wecht found that Rebecca Zahau had suffered blows to the top of her head, indicated by four separate hemorrhages beneath the scalp. Such an injury, Dr. Wecht said, indicated the possibility of her having been knocked unconscious with a blunt object, signifying why there was no sign of a struggle (as the police pointed out). Another major piece of the puzzle: the state of Rebecca's neck, which Dr. Wecht found was not broken by the force of her fall from the balcony.
Dr. Wecht also touched on the way Rebecca was tied up (and would have had to do so herself if this was a suicide): "Yes, I know Harry Houdini did slipknots and things of that nature 70 years ago, but to say that Miss Zahau was able to do it, I've yet to hear from the law enforcement people where did she acquire this skill."Ultimately, Dr. Wecht urged investigators to reopen the case and to mark the death as "undetermined" instead of a "suicide." Because, although, Dr. Wecht agrees Rebecca's death was asphyxiation by hanging, he has strong doubts it was a suicide: "While I am not prepared to unequivocally, with absolute scientific certainty, say that it was a homicide and that it was not a suicide, I lean very strongly toward it being a homicide, something involving foul play. And I lean very strongly against it being a suicide."
Check out video of Dr. Wecht's appearence on Dr. Phil below:
Local Forensic Pathologist and talent network speaker - Dr. Cyril Wecht - is scheduled to appear on Tuesday, November 15th's Dr. Phil Show to discuss his findings in the Rebecca Zahau case. Read on for more information on what will be appearing in the episode:
Rebecca Zahau. abcnewsradioonline.com
The Mysterious Death of Rebecca Zahau
Was it suicide or foul play? On July 13, Rebecca Zahau, 32, was found dead in a historic California mansion owned by her boyfriend, Medicis Pharmaceutical CEO Jonah Shacknai. Investigators say Shacknai's brother found the woman nude, hanging from a second-story balcony with her feet bound and hands tied behind her back. Zahau's death occurred two days after Shacknai's 6-year-old son reportedly fell from a second-floor banister while in her care. The boy died of his injuries three days after Rebecca's body was found. The San Diego County Sheriff's Department announced their finding that Rebecca committed suicide, but Zahau's family says there are mysterious circumstances surrounding her death, and they think she was murdered. Can someone bind their own hands and feet before hanging themselves? Was the cryptic message painted on a nearby door a suicide note or a message from a killer? The family has ordered a reexamination of the facts, along with an independent autopsy to be conducted by renowned forensic pathologist Dr. Cyril Wecht, who has claimed that ruling Zahau's death a suicide was a hasty conclusion. Dr. Phil is by the family's side as they hear the latest autopsy results. Will these findings bring answers or just more questions? If there is indication of foul play, who is responsible? And, can Rebecca's loved ones find closure after their tragic loss?
Watch Dr. Wecht Tuesday, November 15th on Dr. Phil and let us know what you think.

This week, Read The Stars' Judi Vitale covers three vital topics of the astrological universe: New Moon in Scorpio, Sun in Scorpio and the power of Jupiter-Pluto. Read on to find out what is in the stars this week…
First up - New Moon in Scorpio: "If you haven't done anything to mark the new moon in Scorpio yet, it's okay! There's still time. The effects of the new moon in Scorpio will be around for a few days. This is a time when you can work magic with your life. Be honest with yourself, find the one thing you know you must work on and submit to the process of transformation!
Credit: myexistenz.com
You can just do this in your life, but there are ways of making a more momentous occasion of it. Light a candle and stare into the fire. Do you see images? Do you see yourself in them? What are the shapes you notice in the flame and how do they relate to your life? Yes, Scorpio is a fire sign, but it is the kind of water that has the potential to be as powerful as fire. All you need to do is unlock the energies you hold within you."
Judi also touches on Sun in Scorpio: "How will you fare when your feet are to the fire?
The sun entered Scorpio on Sunday October 23, 2011, beginning the period of the year when we "do or die." If you know Scorpio people, you see what marvelous creatures they are. They keep trying and striving, no matter how hard the world tries to keep them down. The Scorpion, the traditional zodiac symbol for Scorpio, tells only part of this noble sign's story. The Scorpion will be surrounded by fire, submit to being burned, and then emerge new, as the alchemists ' eagle, or more graphically, like the phoenix.
Scorpio is a water sign, but it's the kind of water that is stagnant and cluttered with the deadened material of flowers and leaves that have seen better days. Scorpio allows this dead matter to fester and ferment, and then takes it to create things that are more magnificent than ever! It takes great insight and confidence, two wonderful Scorpio traits, to see within the condition of death the potential of new life. That is, in fact, exactly what becomes of the dead leaves and cold, stagnant water that surrounds us at this time of year. They provide food for the soil that will come alive again in the spring. Dead material does have its benefits. Think of what we celebrate at this time of year - Halloween! …"
The final topic - Jupiter-Pluto Power - covers important dates this week and weekly horoscopes: "It's time for the Jupiter-Pluto trine again. As I said at the last occasion of this pattern in the sky in July of this year (see this video), when Jupiter and Pluto make a triangle in the sky, we are faced with our own personal empowerment, and the issue of how we will use our personal power. This theme will drive most of our activity this week. We're also just settling in to the time of the sun in Scorpio, when we are faced with issues such as our own mortality and the consequences of all our actions. Will we have the fortitude to follow through with our plans, especially if they will reveal just how much courage we have (or do not possess)?..."
Important Dates: Sunday October 23, 2:30 PM - Sun entered Scorpio. Wednesday October 26, 3:56 PM - new moon. Friday October 28, 12:46 PM - Jupiter Trine Pluto Friday October 28, 9:42 PM - Sun opposite Jupiter Friday October 28, 11:09 PM - Sun sextile Pluto

In this week's Read The Stars' featured article, astrologer Judi Vitale touches on the death of Gaddafi and what this means in this astrological world…
Credit: SydneyMorningHerald.com
"The erratic energy of the planet Uranus takes no prisoners, as we've seen time and again this year. From the time it moved into Aries on March 11, we've seen ups, downs, earthquakes and meltdowns. It's been a rough ride, especially if you happen to reside in Libya. While people in the US Occupy Wall Street over college loans, people in Egypt are still waiting for the military to hand over the government. And now that Gaddafi is dead, what will happen next? In this video, I point out what the current Uranus cycle means to our world, and how it reflects back to a different time in history. There's no doubt we don't like what we've got. But...what will we put up in its place? That's what remains to be seen. With titanic planetary forces engaged in battle, we still have choices, but there is so much to be overcome…"
In another featured Read The Stars article, Judi delves into the recent wedding between Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed:
Credit: Inquisitr.com
"The Gene Simmons-Shannon Tweed wedding is loaded with astrology's symbolism. What, you may ask, makes a couple come to the decision to have a wedding, some two children and 28 years after their first date? Astrology's answer is simple: Saturn. Any time I hear a news story that involves a process that takes "around thirty years," my ears perk up. And okay, I also have to confess that one of my most guilty pleasures is watching (DVR'ed versions) of "Gene Simmons' Family Jewels." I didn't know how it happened to become one of two or three shows I bother to watch, but of course there's an astrology connection there too. My Midheaven, like Gene's, is in Capricorn - I share in common with him the idea that my art is nothing if I can't get it out into the public where it can be appreciated! Gene's and Shannon's wedding will surely be made very public as it's televised and documented as part of their reality show…I felt particularly compelled to comment on the astrology of their relationship and what's brought them to this point.
First, let's look at the two of them as a couple…"

This week, Read The Stars' Judi Vitale kicks off the month of October with your Monthly Horoscopes. Here is an overview:
"There's a reason why we say this October is Perfect for Pumpkins!
unrealitymag.com
The rest of the planets will be just quiet enough for us to notice the more subtle, yet profound, shifts and transformations as the planet moves from post autumn-equinox fury into a more silent, somber mood. Think of it. While the month begins with bright autumn leaves and rich harvest vegetables, it ends with Halloween and the symbols of death, and though ghoulish, nonetheless - signs of resurrection. The transition from Libra to Scorpio between October 1st and October 23rd is the "fall" of the sun; the time when, in the northern hemisphere, the earth moves into its dormant period. The dead leaves of lush summer trees decompose and form a substance that appears lifeless, yet holds within it the potential to become life once again. Just like pumpkins! Some are used for food and seeds, some for jack o' lanterns and most meet the same fate once the skins decay - they meld into the soil, adding to the mix of organic material that will give birth to more life in the not-so-distant future, when spring comes around. In our lives, we can follow this pattern too…"
In another featured Read The Stars article, Judi Vitale discusses the New Moon that took place on September 27, 2011:
Farmersalmanac.com
"The new moon in Libra that takes place September 27, 2011 isn't the "normal" kind of beginning to a lunar cycle. While the idea of Libra is to achieve balance in our lives and make choices about our relationships, there is much more to it than that because the place in the zodiac where the sun and moon are positioned is tied in with other, very powerful, planets...
…The new moon in Libra, particularly with Saturn in that sign at this time, urges us to make new starts in our relationship lives. Before we can be in a "real" partnership with another person, though, we must be in harmony within ourselves. Especially with Pluto so closely configured with the new moon (which is really the sun and the moon together), we are being pushed to reconcile the two sides of our own inner lives, and to become genuine about what we want and how we want to achieve it. The intense cardinal energy being pressed upon us now, thanks to all these planets in the signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, has the effect of promoting a "do it now or die" attitude. If you feel anxious or rushed, this could be part of the reason why. The answer to solving this issue isn't about going as fast as you can. Instead, the call is to go within, and rather than taking action, allowing an inner transformation to take place…
What else does this New Moon in Libra mean to us, both as individuals and as a whole? Read New Moon in Libra - Be Who You Are and watch the accompanying video to find out.

In another football-themed Read The Stars article, astrologer Judi Vitale analyzes what's going on in the NFL:
nationofblue.com
"No doubt about it. Sometimes, football hurts, and even the strongest and most feared players are prone to injuries. In Week 2, there were a couple of big QBs who were seeing stars by the end of their respective games. Michael Vick, QB for the Philadelphia Eagles, and Tony Romo, the Cowboys' long-time QB, were both on the sidelines for at least part of their games, and they may or may not be playing in Week 3!"
This Read The Stars feature includes a video that helps "provide a valid method of understanding why bad things happen, and what we might have to do in order to act in harmony with our intent and purpose." Check out Michael Vick and Tony Romo:" Ouchie!" in Week 2 here.
Judi Vitale also discusses Mars' move into Leo and how the planet and sign influence one another.
shaysart.homestead.com
"The way a planet's arrival in a sign will affect life on earth depends upon how well the planet gets along with the energy of the planet ruling the new sign. (When we say a planet rules a sign, it means the planet has an affinity and an authority over the sign and any planets or other factors that might enter the sign.) In this case, Mars is a fire planet, and is in fact a "throw-off" of the sun, the planet which "rules" Leo. They get along great. In fact, the influence of the steadily burning sun calms Mars down just enough to make it magnanimous and generous, rather than impulsive and aggressive. For the most part, from now until mid November, we can expect a steadier kind of energy, unless of course you happen to be a Leo. As your Cancer friends will tell you, having Mars in your sign give you "too much" energy, and it's wise to cut down on caffeine and pump up the physical activity to work off the stress. This might be the case also for people who are Taurus, Scorpio or Aquarius…"
In this week's final featured article, Judi Vitale delves into the Autumn Equinox...
"You'd also be well-advised to get focused and "on the ball," because this autumn is going to move F-A-S-T. We got a preview of things to come when Pluto went direct on September 16th, and with many of the planets that are retrograde now going direct over the course of the season, we'll have to run our fastest to keep up with changing conditions and what will feel like an uncertain future. We will have to work very hard from September through November to make sure the projects we want to finish have more than just a good start. We may also find ourselves doing far more work than usual, and wondering how we can possibly get it all done.
The biggest date we have to watch is December 10th…"

This week, Read The Stars' Judi Vitale delves into football once again, using astrology to look at two specific players: Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
"I hate to jump the gun and start speculating about who will win the 2012 Super Bowl, but since the TV commentators are already at it, I figured ReadTheStars could take a stab at it too. Last week, especially after the amazing performances they gave in their respective games, all the tongues wagged like crazy over Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers.
Lots of fans and fantasy game players are wondering whether either of these guys, and the awesome teams they quarterback, are even close to being "beatable". It's true that both the Packers and the Patriots took their opponents to school last week; but what about the rest of the season, particularly the Playoffs and the Super Bowl?
With astrology, we can look at each player and determine who has the better outlook for the upcoming season…"
In another Read The Stars article, Judi discusses the end of the Pluto Retrograde - which occurs today, September 16th.
"On September 16 at 2:23 PM Eastern Time, Pluto will stop moving backwards (or at least appear as though that's what it was doing) and get ready to go back to "normal" motion again. As this happens, think about the things you want to move forward now. If there's a project, a campaign, or a career change you've been waiting to push out of a rut or a holding pattern, the time has come. Make that phone call asking if you're going to get the job or not; propose marriage or a living together situation, or change your location entirely to give yourself better prospects for personal and professional success! If you can't think of anything exciting to wish for in your life, don't worry - Pluto has a way of making big things happen whether we want them to or not. …
The areas of the world where events are most likely to occur could be Alaska, where Mars will be highest in the sky, and the area containing Iran and Afghanistan, where Neptune will dominate the heavens. Saturn will be highest in the United States, especially the areas of New York and Washington, D.C., perhaps indicating some responsibility felt or taken for the events that unfold. Venus will seem to "protect" Chicago and the Midwest region, while the sun will blaze over Texas - perhaps portending more dry heat - and Mercury, the planet that brings much wind, could stir up the breeze in the Rocky Mountain region and the Southwest. We can think of crises that have taken place in all these areas since 2008, but perhaps the most ominous is the one I'm saving for last: Pluto will be overhead and at its greatest influence as it goes direct over France and West Africa. The financial crisis in France could worsen, while the countries of Algeria, Mali and Ghana could also make the news because of some sort of transformation that takes place, financial or otherwise. As an aside, the sun will be on the western horizon in Cote d'Ivoire at the Pluto station, so perhaps the disquieting lack of activity that's been the status quo all spring and summer could change."
