The 10th Annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days, a global network of music events presented by the Daniel Pearl Foundation, are being held October 1st through October 31st.

Daniel Pearl, World Music Days

World Music Days - a worldwide awareness-raising initiative supporting the theme of "Harmony for Humanity" - has grown to include the participation of more than 6,700 performances in 111 countries. It is dedicated to the memory of Daniel Pearl, "the former Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan shortly after 9/11. During his life, Danny used his pen and his fiddle to bridge cultural divides and spread friendship wherever he traveled. World Music Days provides an opportunity for musicians from around the world to come together to carry on this important part of his legacy."

This is how World Music Days works:
  • Artists make a brief dedication, from the stage or in a printed program, to the theme "Harmony for Humanity" at any of their regularly scheduled October events.
  • Artists register on the World Music Days website to confirm their participation and promote their events.

Talk Hot Rods has two new podcasts available this week. First up, Hersch got the chance to catch up with Bill Hahn, Wes Woodward and Paul Vorbach:

"After a long and hard restoration/reconstruction which has taken years, Bill, Wes and Paul recently had a chance to take the HRG to the Indy Goodguys show and not only won the award for "Period Perfect" but also had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to actually run the car on the fabled brickyard. From its 1938 debut at The Brooklands in Great Britain to its 2011 rebirth at Indy, the HRG has had an amazing life saved by its owner and the guys at H&W.

Talk Hot Rods, Hersch, Hahn and Woodward, Pittsburgh, IndyPlease give a listen to the latest update from Bill Hahn, Wes Woodward and Paul Vorbach as they tell the HRG's story of near death to stunning glory. There are so many things that had to be overcome for this to be a happy story. It is an achievement that any hot rodder can appreciate…"

The other podcast features Hersch and Bill Steele, which "brings us up-to-date on his Bagger, talks about his upcoming trip to Vegas and offers advice on seeing the SEMA show…"

Read The Stars | October Monthly Horoscopes and The New Moon

This week, Read The Stars' Judi Vitale kicks off the month of October with your Monthly Horoscopes. Here is an overview:

"There's a reason why we say this October is Perfect for Pumpkins!

Read The Stars, Judi Vitale, Astrology, Pittsburgh, Horoscopes, talent network
unrealitymag.com
The rest of the planets will be just quiet enough for us to notice the more subtle, yet profound, shifts and transformations as the planet moves from post autumn-equinox fury into a more silent, somber mood. Think of it. While the month begins with bright autumn leaves and rich harvest vegetables, it ends with Halloween and the symbols of death, and though ghoulish, nonetheless - signs of resurrection. The transition from Libra to Scorpio between October 1st and October 23rd is the "fall" of the sun; the time when, in the northern hemisphere, the earth moves into its dormant period. The dead leaves of lush summer trees decompose and form a substance that appears lifeless, yet holds within it the potential to become life once again. Just like pumpkins! Some are used for food and seeds, some for jack o' lanterns and most meet the same fate once the skins decay - they meld into the soil, adding to the mix of organic material that will give birth to more life in the not-so-distant future, when spring comes around. In our lives, we can follow this pattern too…"

In another featured Read The Stars article, Judi Vitale discusses the New Moon that took place on September 27, 2011:

Judi Vitale, Read The Stars, Astrology, Pittsburgh, talent network, New Moon
Farmersalmanac.com
"The new moon in Libra that takes place September 27, 2011 isn't the "normal" kind of beginning to a lunar cycle. While the idea of Libra is to achieve balance in our lives and make choices about our relationships, there is much more to it than that because the place in the zodiac where the sun and moon are positioned is tied in with other, very powerful, planets...

…The new moon in Libra, particularly with Saturn in that sign at this time, urges us to make new starts in our relationship lives. Before we can be in a "real" partnership with another person, though, we must be in harmony within ourselves. Especially with Pluto so closely configured with the new moon (which is really the sun and the moon together), we are being pushed to reconcile the two sides of our own inner lives, and to become genuine about what we want and how we want to achieve it.

The intense cardinal energy being pressed upon us now, thanks to all these planets in the signs Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn, has the effect of promoting a "do it now or die" attitude. If you feel anxious or rushed, this could be part of the reason why. The answer to solving this issue isn't about going as fast as you can. Instead, the call is to go within, and rather than taking action, allowing an inner transformation to take place…

What else does this New Moon in Libra mean to us, both as individuals and as a whole? Read New Moon in Libra - Be Who You Are and watch the accompanying video to find out.

Talk Hot Rods | Hersch Covers September 10th's Flashlight Drags in Waynesburg

In this week's Talk Hot Rods' featured story, Hersch outlines September 10th's Flashlight Drags, which took place in Waynesburg at the Greene Co. Airport.

Talk Hot Rods, Hersch, Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh, talk hot rods, Hersch, Flashlight Drags, Waynesburg

"The racers were running for pink slips again at the Greene Co. Airport and we had a real variety of hot rods on-hand. It's always fun for us to meet the racers and spectators that come out to support us. I have to say a special hello to Chad - a great guy who worked long and hard to get his Camaro ready for the Flashlight Drags. Chad's Dad took the time to tell us about his son, so we could let the crowd know what it all meant to him as he was out having a great time racing for pinks.

The Flashlight Drags continues to bring out the best in all of us involved. The racers, the spectators, family and friends make it so gratifying to be a part of it…"

Read The Stars | Michael Vick, Tony Romo, Mars in Leo and the Autumn Equinox

In another football-themed Read The Stars article, astrologer Judi Vitale analyzes what's going on in the NFL:

M/></a></td></tr><tr><td class=
nationofblue.com
"No doubt about it. Sometimes, football hurts, and even the strongest and most feared players are prone to injuries. In Week 2, there were a couple of big QBs who were seeing stars by the end of their respective games. Michael Vick, QB for the Philadelphia Eagles, and Tony Romo, the Cowboys' long-time QB, were both on the sidelines for at least part of their games, and they may or may not be playing in Week 3!"

This Read The Stars feature includes a video that helps "provide a valid method of understanding why bad things happen, and what we might have to do in order to act in harmony with our intent and purpose." Check out Michael Vick and Tony Romo:" Ouchie!" in Week 2 here.

Judi Vitale also discusses
Mars' move into Leo and how the planet and sign influence one another.

Pittsburgh, Judi Vitale, Read The Stars, Astrology, Mars, Leo
shaysart.homestead.com

"The way a planet's arrival in a sign will affect life on earth depends upon how well the planet gets along with the energy of the planet ruling the new sign. (When we say a planet rules a sign, it means the planet has an affinity and an authority over the sign and any planets or other factors that might enter the sign.) In this case, Mars is a fire planet, and is in fact a "throw-off" of the sun, the planet which "rules" Leo. They get along great. In fact, the influence of the steadily burning sun calms Mars down just enough to make it magnanimous and generous, rather than impulsive and aggressive. For the most part, from now until mid November, we can expect a steadier kind of energy, unless of course you happen to be a Leo. As your Cancer friends will tell you, having Mars in your sign give you "too much" energy, and it's wise to cut down on caffeine and pump up the physical activity to work off the stress. This might be the case also for people who are Taurus, Scorpio or Aquarius…"

Read the rest of the article for a sign-by-sign breakdown of Mars in Leo and watch the accompanying video with Mars in Leo and the Lion's Den - What Will You Do? on Read The Stars.

In this week's final featured article, Judi Vitale delves into the Autumn Equinox...

Pittsburgh, Read the Stars, Equinox, Autumn, Astrology

"You'd also be well-advised to get focused and "on the ball," because this autumn is going to move F-A-S-T. We got a preview of things to come when Pluto went direct on September 16th, and with many of the planets that are retrograde now going direct over the course of the season, we'll have to run our fastest to keep up with changing conditions and what will feel like an uncertain future. We will have to work very hard from September through November to make sure the projects we want to finish have more than just a good start. We may also find ourselves doing far more work than usual, and wondering how we can possibly get it all done.

The biggest date we have to watch is December 10th…"

Derrick Kosinski Podcast" A Very 'Jersey Shore' Podcast" w/Dan Walsh & Vinny Foti

September 19, 2011

"A Very Jersey Shore Podcast" starring The Most Sober Drunk Guy in America-Dan Walsh "The Danimal" and "The Boston Fist Pumping Machine"-Vinny Foti from "The Challenges"

Get ready to listen the funniest conversation with the 2 goofiest guys in MTV challenge history. The dynamic duo of "Sober Dan" Walsh and "Banana Hammock" Foti may have just taken the reigns from The J.E.K. Empire (Johnny,Evan,Kenny) as the most comedic couple to land on the podcast.

This podcast breaks down the newest episode of The Jersey Shore where Team Meatball goes on a romantic day drinking excursion which eventually ends up with Snooki crashing her vehicle into a police car in Italy, leaving the question: Will the Jersey Shore get kicked out of Italy?? With Vinny being an avid G.T.L. subscriber and Dan not caring for The Jersey Shore so much, except for the High School crush he had on the Amy "The After Hours" host, this podcast will be sure to erupt in laughter. On top of that, these 2 dish out plenty of Never-Heard-Before Challenge stories you won't wanna miss.

Take a break from the ever day stress of life and listen to a bunch of bozo's be themselves. As always folks, sit back, relax, and laugh a little.

Sincerely,Team Ultimate Challenge Radio
