Read The Stars | New Moon and Sun in Scorpio and The Power of Jupiter-Pluto
October 28, 2011

---
This week, Read The Stars' Judi Vitale covers three vital topics of the astrological universe: New Moon in Scorpio, Sun in Scorpio and the power of Jupiter-Pluto. Read on to find out what is in the stars this week…
First up - New Moon in Scorpio:
"If you haven't done anything to mark the new moon in Scorpio yet, it's okay! There's still time. The effects of the new moon in Scorpio will be around for a few days. This is a time when you can work magic with your life. Be honest with yourself, find the one thing you know you must work on and submit to the process of transformation!
You can just do this in your life, but there are ways of making a more momentous occasion of it. Light a candle and stare into the fire. Do you see images? Do you see yourself in them? What are the shapes you notice in the flame and how do they relate to your life? Yes, Scorpio is a fire sign, but it is the kind of water that has the potential to be as powerful as fire. All you need to do is unlock the energies you hold within you."
Read more and watch the video to find out more about New Moon in Scorpio - Rise To The Occasion on Read The Stars.
Judi also touches on Sun in Scorpio:
"How will you fare when your feet are to the fire?
The sun entered Scorpio on Sunday October 23, 2011, beginning the period of the year when we "do or die." If you know Scorpio people, you see what marvelous creatures they are. They keep trying and striving, no matter how hard the world tries to keep them down. The Scorpion, the traditional zodiac symbol for Scorpio, tells only part of this noble sign's story. The Scorpion will be surrounded by fire, submit to being burned, and then emerge new, as the alchemists ' eagle, or more graphically, like the phoenix.
Scorpio is a water sign, but it's the kind of water that is stagnant and cluttered with the deadened material of flowers and leaves that have seen better days. Scorpio allows this dead matter to fester and ferment, and then takes it to create things that are more magnificent than ever! It takes great insight and confidence, two wonderful Scorpio traits, to see within the condition of death the potential of new life. That is, in fact, exactly what becomes of the dead leaves and cold, stagnant water that surrounds us at this time of year. They provide food for the soil that will come alive again in the spring. Dead material does have its benefits. Think of what we celebrate at this time of year - Halloween! …"
Read and watch the video on Sun in Scorpio: Transform or... for more insight on Read The Stars.
The final topic - Jupiter-Pluto Power - covers important dates this week and weekly horoscopes:
"It's time for the Jupiter-Pluto trine again. As I said at the last occasion of this pattern in the sky in July of this year (see this video), when Jupiter and Pluto make a triangle in the sky, we are faced with our own personal empowerment, and the issue of how we will use our personal power. This theme will drive most of our activity this week. We're also just settling in to the time of the sun in Scorpio, when we are faced with issues such as our own mortality and the consequences of all our actions. Will we have the fortitude to follow through with our plans, especially if they will reveal just how much courage we have (or do not possess)?..."
Important Dates:
Sunday October 23, 2:30 PM - Sun entered Scorpio.
Wednesday October 26, 3:56 PM - new moon.
Friday October 28, 12:46 PM - Jupiter Trine Pluto
Friday October 28, 9:42 PM - Sun opposite Jupiter
Friday October 28, 11:09 PM - Sun sextile Pluto

National Geographic Traveler has just released their "Best of the World 2012" and Pittsburgh is among the 20 best cities in the world to visit, with the magazine citing Pittsburgh's "Extreme Metropolitan Makeover:"
"Three rivers. One reinvented city. On all counts, the Steel City's transformation over the past quarter century qualifies as revolutionary. Its mourning for its industrial past long concluded, this western Pennsylvania city changed jobs and reclaimed its major assets: a natural setting that rivals Lisbon and San Francisco, a wealth of fine art and architecture, and a quirky sense of humor…" Not to mention the various movies touching down in the city to film, most recently Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Rises.

Read The Stars | Gaddafi and Gene Simmons
October 21, 2011

---
In this week's Read The Stars' featured article, astrologer Judi Vitale touches on the death of Gaddafi and what this means in this astrological world…
"The erratic energy of the planet Uranus takes no prisoners, as we've seen time and again this year. From the time it moved into Aries on March 11, we've seen ups, downs, earthquakes and meltdowns. It's been a rough ride, especially if you happen to reside in Libya. While people in the US Occupy Wall Street over college loans, people in Egypt are still waiting for the military to hand over the government. And now that Gaddafi is dead, what will happen next?
In this video, I point out what the current Uranus cycle means to our world, and how it reflects back to a different time in history. There's no doubt we don't like what we've got. But...what will we put up in its place? That's what remains to be seen. With titanic planetary forces engaged in battle, we still have choices, but there is so much to be overcome…"
Read the article and watch the accompanying video on Read The Stars' Gaddafi Dead? Uranus Takes No Prisoners.
In another featured Read The Stars article,
Judi delves into the recent wedding between Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed:
"The Gene Simmons-Shannon Tweed wedding is loaded with astrology's symbolism.
What, you may ask, makes a couple come to the decision to have a wedding, some two children and 28 years after their first date? Astrology's answer is simple: Saturn. Any time I hear a news story that involves a process that takes "around thirty years," my ears perk up. And okay, I also have to confess that one of my most guilty pleasures is watching (DVR'ed versions) of "Gene Simmons' Family Jewels." I didn't know how it happened to become one of two or three shows I bother to watch, but of course there's an astrology connection there too. My Midheaven, like Gene's, is in Capricorn - I share in common with him the idea that my art is nothing if I can't get it out into the public where it can be appreciated!
Gene's and Shannon's wedding will surely be made very public as it's televised and documented as part of their reality show…I felt particularly compelled to comment on the astrology of their relationship and what's brought them to this point.
First, let's look at the two of them as a couple…"

Read The Stars | Venus and Mercury in Scorpio
October 14, 2011
Posted By - Emma Venezie

---
This week on Read The Stars, Judi Vitale helps us to understand what both Mercury and Venus in Scorpio means for us. First up is Mercury in Scorpio:
"Mercury in Scorpio is great for cutting right to the heart of a matter, slicing and dicing it and getting to the truth. Like a Ninja, it sneaks up on us and strikes right when we least expect it to! This can be an invaluable tool when we channel it to deliver verbal strikes to people who want to oppose our plans. However, if we allow this force to work unconsciously, we can wind up in a lot of trouble.
While Mercury is in Scorpio, from October 13-November 2, you might notice people have a smart response to just about everything. Much of it (if you appreciate satire) will be cutting and funny. Some of it, though, might be sharp and offensive. Your job will be to become aware of your own reactions to Mercury, the planet that allows us to communicate, in Scorpio, the sign that takes one thing and transforms it into another. It's an excellent time for research, investigations and intellectual exploration. It's a difficult time in our interpersonal relationships because we tend to say what we're thinking, maybe disguising it as a joke; but often not bothering to cloak our distaste or disgust in anything but its own naked truth…"
Read more and watch the video to discover what there is to know about Mercury in Scorpio on Read The Stars' Mercury In Scorpio - The Conversational Ninja
In another Read The Stars article, Judi Vitale discusses Venus in Scorpio. Watch the video, in which Judi explains the "real" Venus in Scorpio: Venus in Scorpio - Maybe Not So Nice!
