The 10th Annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days, a global network of music events presented by the Daniel Pearl Foundation, are being held October 1st through October 31st.
World Music Days - a worldwide awareness-raising initiative supporting the theme of "Harmony for Humanity" - has grown to include the participation of more than 6,700 performances in 111 countries. It is dedicated to the memory of Daniel Pearl, "the former Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered by terrorists in Pakistan shortly after 9/11. During his life, Danny used his pen and his fiddle to bridge cultural divides and spread friendship wherever he traveled. World Music Days provides an opportunity for musicians from around the world to come together to carry on this important part of his legacy."
This is how World Music Days works:
- Artists make a brief dedication, from the stage or in a printed program, to the theme "Harmony for Humanity" at any of their regularly scheduled October events.
- Artists register on the World Music Days website to confirm their participation and promote their events.
